Here are a few:
The Lamp of Religion
Alkyd on Board
Should the lamp of religion be obscured, chaos and confusion will ensue and the lights of fairness and justice, of tranquility and peace cease to shine.
- Baha’u’llah
The light of religion has throughout history caused great civilizations to emerge. But after a time superficial interpretations and attachments to the form of religion and not the reality causes the disintegration of society.
Foundation of Truth
Tempera and Oil on Board
A quote from Bahá’u’llah is hidden within the painting. The major Semitic descent religions are depicted by their architecture. Though diverse, and revealed in different ages, they are all parts of a whole.
The first level is a synagogue, followed by a church, then a mosque. The whole structure is capped by the Shrine of the Bab, a building on Mt. Carmel in Israel, and a symbol for the Bahaí Faith, the most recent religion.
The quote is:
"Truthfulness is the foundation of all human virtues"
-Bahá’u’llah
In this context, this can be seen as an exhortation to delve deeper into the holy writings (of whatever religion) and not be satisfied with the surface/ superficial interpretations to which mankind has usually limited his understanding.
Ocean of His Grace
Alkyd on Canvas
O Wayfarer in the path of God! Take thou thy portion of the Ocean of His Grace and deprive not thyself of the things that lay hidden in its depths. Be thou of them that have partaken of its treasures. A dewdrop out of this ocean would, if shed upon all that are in the heavens and on the earth suffice to enrich them with the bounty of God, the Almighty, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.
- Baha’ú’llah
